As the regional peace and stability landscapes in both the Euro-Atlantic theatre and the Indo-Pacific theatre are undergoing significant changes due to great power competition, questions emerge regarding the role of middle powers within this increasingly contested space.
Notwithstanding the vastly different geographic contexts in which the Netherlands and Australia are located, the enduring like-mindedness of both countries is noteworthy and presents an excellent opportunity for collaboration. While shared interests are the starting point for this collaboration, our shared values make this effort much easier.
In this interactive discussion, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mrs. Ardi Stoios-Braken, will discuss how increasing competition in Europe and the Indo-Pacific make a logical and pressing case for a closer partnership between Australia and Europe. She will present from the Dutch perspective the opportunities for diplomacy and practical collaboration to tackle the geo-political, geo-economic and climate-related challenges of our time.
