Being a Woman in the Foreign and Security Policy Fields



On 3rd June 2025, Ambika Vishwanath, Founder Director of Kubernein Initiative, an independent, female led, geopolitical advisory firm based in India, will speak about the opportunities to foster bilateral relations between India and Australia. In addition to the main event commencing at 6pm, Ambika Vishwanath has made herself available to provide an interactive discussion for a limited number of members commencing at 4.30pm on the experience of being a woman working internationally in the foreign and security policy field. This unique in-person only opportunity will be particularly of interest to student and young professional members considering careers in this field. Numbers are strictly limited so interested members are encouraged to register early.

Ambika Vishwanath is currently a DFAT-funded Research Fellow at La Trobe Asia. Ambika is a geopolitical analyst and water security specialist with experience in the field of governance and foreign policy. She has led track two diplomacy efforts and consulted with several governments and international organizations in the MENA region, Europe and India, and helped shape their policies in the field of conflict resolution, water diplomacy and security. The first Indian to be invited as a member of the prestigious Munich Young Leaders Network, she has been invited to consult with and speak at various events and conference across the MENA region, India and Europe, by The Hague Institute, Koerber Foundation, Central University of Jammu, TERI, Mumbai University and others.

    Ambika Vishwanath is the Founder Director of Kubernein Initiative, an independent, female led, geopolitical advisory firm based in India. She is also a DFAT-funded Research Fellow at La Trobe Asia. Ambika is a geopolitical analyst and water security specialist with experience in the field of governance and foreign policy. She has led track two diplomacy efforts and consulted with several governments and international organizations in the MENA region, Europe and India, and helped shape their policies in the field of conflict resolution, water diplomacy and security. She is part of the inaugural cohort of the China-India Visiting Scholars (CIVS) Fellowship, 2020 – 2021, Ashoka University and also a Non-Resident Fellow with the Agora Institute, Germany.
