Join us either in-person or online with Queensland Trade Commissioner for the Pacific International Operations, Leata Alaimoana, who will discuss Queensland's trade and investment opportunities in the Pacific.


If you are attending in-person, please arrive at Holding Redlich at 5.30pm for registration and drinks. This event will be available online. After registering, on August 8 you will receive a follow-up confirmation email containing further details on how to join the webinar which will commence at 6pm AEST. The event is free for AIIA Queensland members and AIIA members from all states. Non-members pay $10 and student non-members $5.

Queensland see's itself as Australia's Pacific state. With the Pacific Islands only a 1.5 hour flight away, its close proximity opens up trade and investment opportunities for both Queensland and the Pacific.

The Trade Commissioner will discuss the ways that Queensland is engaging with the Pacific, working with 'Team Australia', the opportunities and delivering on the Pacific trade strategy.

    Queensland Trade Commissioner the Pacific International Operations at Trade and Investment Queensland

    An accomplished executive with extensive Australian and international experience in leadership, executive management, government relations, project and service delivery, Leata Alaimoana was appointed Queensland Trade Commissioner for the Pacific in March 2023. Leata began her career within the Investment Attraction Unit with what was then the Queensland Department of State Development in 2002. The last two decades has taken Leata through a variety of management and leadership roles in the Queensland and Federal Governments, Sunshine Coast City Council and Aviation Australia. During her time with Pacific Trade Invest Australia, she facilitated over $33 million in investments across the Pacific Island region, creating economic opportunities while delivering positive social outcomes for communities. Leata is a non-executive Director on the Boards of Good Return and Exemplar International Development, and is NAATI accredited as a Samoan interpreter/translator.
