Australia faces a more dynamic and uncertain future than at any time in the past 50 years, with major drivers of change and volatility found in our own Asia-Pacific region. New energy in the Australia's foreign policy portfolio coupled with an explicit commitment to diplomacy and statecraft after some years of neglect bodes well as the nation faces up to the immediate challenges. Yet more fundamental rethinking of Australia's international engagement narrative, priority strategies and underpinning value proposition is required over the long term. Through this discussion, Professor Caitlin Byrne will explore the limits, prospects, and opportunities for rethinking Australia's approach towards a dynamic region.
