H.E. Berenice Owen-Jones

High Commissioner of Australia to Ghana

H.E. Berenice Owen-Jones is the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, accredited to Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. She is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), she has previously served overseas as Australia’s Ambassador to Morocco and has had postings in Paris.

In Canberra she served as Director, Diplomatic Academy and Director, Diplomatic Security Branch. She also was a strategic analyst at the Office of National Intelligence.

Berenice speaks French and holds a Bachelor of Economics (1984) and a Diploma of International Law (1987) from the Australian National University.
