'White Sun War: The Campaign for Taiwan' novel presentation - Joint event by AIIA-Queensland and UQ Research Partnerships
Join us either in-person or online with the University of Queensland Research Partnerships as Major General (Ret'd) Mick Ryan presents his most recent novel 'White Sun War: The Campaign for Taiwan'
If you are attending in-person, please arrive at Holding Redlich at 5.30pm for registration and drinks. This event will be available online. After registering, on September 6 you will receive a follow-up confirmation email containing further details on how to join the webinar which will commence at 6pm AEST. The event is free for AIIA Queensland members and AIIA members from all states. Non-members pay $10 and student non-members $5.

Mick Ryan
Major General (retired)Mick Ryan is a highly skilled leader and strategist with more than three decades of experience working in senior roles in the Australian military and beyond. He spent 35 years in the Australian

Army and had the honour of commanding soldiers at multiple levels. His operational service includes
deployments to East Timor, Iraq, and southern Afghanistan, and he also served as a strategist on the
United States Joint Staff in the Pentagon. Mick is a graduate of the Australian Defence Force School
of Languages, a Distinguished Graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff
College, and a graduate of the USMC School of Advanced Warfighting. In 2012, he graduated with
distinction from the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.
Mick is also an adjunct fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC,
and a non-resident fellow at the Lowy Institute in Sydney. In 2008 he was made a Member of the
Order of Australia for distinguished leadership of the Australian 1st Reconstruction Task Force in
Afghanistan.
