Alberto Posso is a Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at Griffith University’s Business School. Prior to joining Griffith University, Alberto was the inaugural Director of the Centre for International Development at RMIT University. Alberto holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University (ANU) with specialisations in economic development and applied econometrics. Geographically, his research focuses on East Asia, Latin America and the Pacific. He has authored over 50 journal papers, book chapters, thought pieces for general consumption, and sponsored research reports. He has publications in leading academic outlets, such as Health Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, World Development, The Journal of Development Studies, and The Journal of Banking & Finance. Alberto has also authored sponsored research projects with leading partners, including UN ESCAP, the UN Global Compact, FAO, the Fred Hollows Foundation, the APEC Secretariat, the Australian Government, the Peruvian Government and Plan International. He has also been non-government representative of Australia in several APEC meetings.
